NPG dental alloy

In recent years, a non-precious gold alloy has been introduced that has similar properties

and applications to to yellow gold but a lower cost: NPG

 

Dead teeth usually have biomechanical defects, such as tooth debris due to caries or

previous restorations. These teeth usually have have weaker physical properties than

live teeth due to changes in cross-collagen junctions, destruction of the neural response

mechanism, reduced moisture, and tooth residue, and are also prone to fractures.

When the crown structure is completely destroyed, a core can be protected from the

canal space by placing a POST. In fact, the post helps to distribute the tension in the

tooth structure evenly by distributing forces over a larger area of the remaining root.
